My timeline…
1973 - Born in Flint, Michigan.
1991 - Graduated from Lapeer West High School.
1995 - Studied Wildlife Management in Kenya.
Worked summers for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Trained lions and tigers on the weekends.
1996 - Graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Biology.
Wanted to save the world and win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Moved to Atlanta, GA and sold Fords.
1998 - Worked in a medical lab to justify my degree.
1999 - Career in IT began at a multimedia firm that no longer exists.
2000 - Was laid off and moved to Spain.
Worked in Madrid for Alcatel until the dot coms went bust.
2001 - Telefonica sent me to Rome for two weeks and then to Munich for three months to work.
Three years living in Europe changed my life.
2003 - Moved to New York City.
2005 - Worked with a team of extremely talented, like-minded, user-centric designers
2006 - Began working for The New York Times as a Technical Project Manager for the Travel section and T Magazine.
2007 - Started practicing Buddhism.
2008 - Promoted to Design Manager of NYTimes.com.
Met Michelle.
Traveled to the other side of the planet and spent two wonderful weeks in Australia.
